Walking Sports at Active Blackpool

Walking sports are great fun whatever your age whether you’ve played the sport before or not.

Joining in is a great way of being active at any skill level and will help to build your strength, endurance and agility whilst also being low impact on your joints.

Walking Cricket

In partnership with Blackpool Football Club Community Trust and the Lancashire Cricket Foundation, Walking Cricket offers a slower-paced, social way to enjoy the sport in a relaxed and supportive setting.

 

The sessions are ideal for anyone managing a long‑term health condition or looking to gently ease back into moving more.

 

It provides a low‑impact introduction to cricket that helps you stay active, build confidence, meet new people and enjoy moving again at your own pace.

Walking Football for Women

Walking Football is a unique small‑sided game, while similar to traditional Association Football, it’s played at a slower pace, making it accessible for a wide range of fitness levels.

 

The sport offers numerous health benefits and provides a great opportunity to meet new people.

Walking Netball is a slower, friendlier twist on the game you know and love. 

 

Sessions are welcoming, steady paced and suitable for all abilities, perfect if you’re looking to build confidence, keep moving or simply enjoy sport in a more accessible way.

Walking Rugby

In partnership with Fylde Rugby Community Foundation, Walking Rugby is now available at Palatine Leisure Centre.

 

Walking Rugby is a fun, inclusive way to add gentle exercise to your week. Sessions are adapted for all backgrounds and experience levels, welcoming everyone from rugby veterans to complete beginners.

 

Walking Rugby is an easy, sociable team game suitable for all abilities. It’s less physical than standard rugby, needs no prior experience or special equipment.
