At Active Blackpool, we have a great team of teachers on our learn 2 swim lessons.

Each bringing their own experience and personality to their lessons whilst ensuring that your children receive quality swimming instruction.

Annie

Annie

Meet Annie – our all-round water expert! With years of experience teaching every age and ability, Annie is not only a swim coach but also an open water coach, aquatic tutor, and water safety tutor. She loves helping swimmers discover the joy of the water, whether it’s their very first splash or training for long-distance swims. When she’s not in the pool or braving open water herself, Annie enjoys cricket, films, theatre trips, and meals out with friends.

Caitlin

Caitlin

Caitlin brings over 10 years of teaching experience and a big dose of enthusiasm to every lesson. From beginners as young as 3 to advanced swimmers, she inspires confidence and progress in the water. A lifelong sports lover, Caitlin even completed her first sprint triathlon at just 14 – and the passion is still going strong!

Carla

Carla

Since 2017, Carla has been sharing her love of swimming with children and schools across Active Blackpool. You’ll find her teaching at both Palatine and Moor Park, helping swimmers grow in confidence and ability. For Carla, the best part of the job is watching her swimmers progress and fall in love with the water, just like she did.

Carol

Carol

For Carol, swimming has always been a way of life – from family holidays to training with her childhood club. With over 20 years of teaching at the council, her passion is as strong as ever. When she’s not in the pool, you’ll find Carol out in nature, trekking to waterfalls or taking on year-round lake swims.

Claire

Claire

Claire has always loved the water – not just for the fun but for the calming, feel-good benefits it brings. As a teacher, she loves seeing children and adults enjoy themselves while learning vital water safety skills. Outside the pool, Claire works as a nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, caring for patients recovering from heart surgery.

Danielle

Danielle

Danielle’s teaching journey began after enjoying baby swim lessons with her own children – and she’s never looked back! Now, she loves introducing little ones and families to the water, while balancing her role at the family business. Married with two children (and two dogs!), Danielle keeps busy but always finds time for fitness and her favourite sport, netball.

Dave

Dave

Dave believes swimming is one of life’s most valuable skills – and he’s passionate about helping people of all ages and abilities reach their goals. Whether it’s learning the basics or training for fitness, his calm encouragement and belief in the benefits of swimming shine through in every lesson.

Dee

Dee

Better known as Dee, Adelia has always lived by the ocean – so becoming a swimming teacher was meant to be! Her happy-go-lucky nature makes lessons fun, relaxed, and full of energy. For Dee, swimming isn’t just about strokes and skills, it’s about loving the water.

Grant

Grant

Grant started swimming young, achieving his Gold Award at just 12, before moving into rugby. Now, as a fully qualified swim teacher and Level 2 Wheelchair Rugby League Coach, he brings a unique mix of experience and passion to every session. Fun fact: he even umpired the 2022 Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup Final in the UK!

Hayden

Hayden

Hayden has been teaching swimming for three years and brings an infectious enthusiasm to every lesson. A lifelong water lover, he enjoys nothing more than passing on his passion and helping his students grow in confidence.

Hazel

Hazel

Hazel has been teaching since 1999, and her passion has only grown over the years. She loves helping little ones build confidence in the water – and she also coaches with the Blackpool Polar Bears on Sundays. Away from the pool, Hazel is a creative soul who enjoys baking, sewing her own clothes, and running a local YouTube channel documenting Blackpool’s ever-changing landscape.

Joanna

Joanna

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Joanna knows that every child learns differently – and she thrives on adapting her lessons to bring out the best in each swimmer. She loves the challenge, the fun, and most of all, sharing her passion for swimming with everyone she teaches.

 

Kath

Kath

Kath’s swimming journey began young and even saw her representing England in Breaststroke and Individual Medley. These days, she’s not only a swimming teacher but also a Beach Lifeguard at Blackpool and Cleveleys. She loves sharing her knowledge and passing her lifelong passion for the water on to her swimmers.

Linzie

Linzie

Linzie simply loves water – whether it’s the sea, lakes, or swimming pools! Having grown up swimming from an early age, she’s now passionate about teaching this vital life skill while making lessons as fun as possible. Her motto? See you in the water!

Robyn

Robyn

Robyn qualified as a swim teacher in 2019 and has been inspiring swimmers ever since. She grew up loving the water, even tackling challenges like the 1-mile Serpentine swim in London’s Hyde Park. Having also worked at the European Championships in Glasgow, Robyn brings big energy and real-world experience to her lessons, helping swimmers build confidence and have fun.

Ryan

Ryan

Ryan’s background in lifeguarding and teaching makes him a natural in the water. Passionate about sports and swimming from a young age, he loves helping others enjoy the water safely. And when he’s not poolside? You’ll find Ryan at his sewing machine, designing and creating bespoke clothing!

Vic

Vic

For Vic, water is freedom – and teaching swimming means sharing that feeling with others. Nothing makes him happier than seeing his swimmers gain confidence and master a life-changing skill. Away from the pool, Vic enjoys family time, whether it’s playing board games or getting stuck into computer games.
