ESCAPE Pain at Active Blackpool

If you have knee, hip or back pain, you could benefit by joining our ESCAPE pain programme.

You can meet other people living with osteoarthritis and learn simple ways to better manage your pain with a gentle, individualised exercise programme to match your needs and pace.

What is ESCAPE Pain?

ESCAPE pain is a 6 week group rehabilitation programme for people with chronic joint pain.

 

On the  programme we can help you understand your condition, teach you simple things you can help yourself with, and take you through a progressive exercise programme so you learn how to cope with pain better. 

 

We’ll integrate educational self-management and coping strategies with an exercise regimen which is individualised for you.

 

The programme will not completely cure your pain, but we’ll aim to reduce your pain, improve your physical function and develop your confidence in your own ability to manage your condition. 

Escape Pain

What does the programme involve?

At Active Blackpool we offer two ESCAPE Pain Programmes.

 

ESCAPE pain for hips and knees is designed specifically to benefit people with hip and knee arthritis.

 

ESCAPE pain for backs is designed specifically to benefit people with persistent back pain.

 

Both programmes are 6 weeks long with two specialised instructor led classes each week. These classes will include exercises designed to improve your movement and function and group discussions about joint pain.

 

We’ll start off on your first week with a meeting with one of our fantastic instructors. They’ll chat to you about your pain so they can make sure your exercise plan will be personalised for you.

 

In addition to the ESCAPE pain classes, they’ll also be able to recommend other activities which which might be beneficial for you.
