What is the Menopause Movement?

Menopause Movement is a 8-week holistic wellbeing programme, led by a specially qualified instructor, designed to help you feel stronger, calmer, and more in control during menopause.

 

Each session includes a supportive mix of:

  • Gentle movement
  • Helpful education and guidance
  • Relaxation and recovery time
  • Social support and shared experiences

 

Our sessions are thoughtfully designed to support you physically, mentally, and emotionally, helping you feel more like yourself again.

 

This is more than just a fitness class. Each session blends movement, strength, relaxation, and friendly conversation, so you can look after both your body and mind in a way that feels right for you.

 

The Menopause Movement is open to anyone experiencing perimenopause, menopause or post-menopause. No experience is needed, just come as you are!

What does a Menopause Movement session involve?

Wise Up Menopause

Each session throughout the programme begins with Wise Up – a relaxed, welcoming space where you can grab a brew, connect with others, and ease into the session. We’ll explore a new topic each week, sharing simple, evidence-based tips to support your wellbeing in a way that feels practical and relevant to you.

 

After some gentle breathwork, we’ll move into the movement part of the session, exploring one of three key pillars:

 

  • Rest Up focuses on calming and restorative practices, guided breathwork, and deep relaxation. It’s all about slowing down, unwinding, and reconnecting with your body.

 

  • Rise Up is about gentle, uplifting movement that helps you open up, take up space, and build confidence, awareness, and ease in how you move and feel.

 

  • Power Up centres on strength-building, supporting both physical and emotional resilience so you can feel stronger, more capable, and confident in everyday life.

 

We’ll end each session with guided rest, giving you time to slow down and let your body and mind gently reset, a chance to pause, release any tension, and feel more settled, calm and refreshed. Finally, we’ll explore a few simple takeaway practices you can use in your own time, that fit easily into your day, and will support you throughout the week.

Menopause can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone.

 

The Menopause Movement programme provides a friendly, understanding environment where you can move more comfortably, feel stronger in your body, improve your overall wellbeing, and connect with others who truly understand what you’re going through.

 

The programme sessions are designed to be welcoming and inclusive, whether you’re new to exercise or already active.

 

You’ll be part of a supportive space where you can connect with others, chat and share experiences, while taking part in gentle movement to build strength, improve mobility and boost confidence.

 

Each week of the programme focuses on helping you better understand your body, feel more energised and balanced, and build strength and resilience at your own pace. Everything is designed to feel achievable, supportive and tailored to you.

What else do you need to know about Menopause Movement…

What should you wear?

 

You’ll need to wear clothing that allows you to move freely, but most importantly, we want you to feel comfortable

 

We’ll be moving during the session, so we recommend wearing trainers that stay secure on your feet but can be easily taken off for the relaxation and breathing parts.

 

We know you may experience changes in temperature during the session, especially while exercising, so bringing a small towel could be helpful.

 

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle to keep you hydrated, we have a free water fountain in the space.

How much does it cost?

 

The 8 week Moving Menopause programme costs just £50 or £30 for concessions.

 

Even better news if you’re one of our Inclusive or Corporate Members, for you, the course will be FREE.

 

If you’re not a member and are interested in staying active alongside the Moving Menopause sessions, we have a range of options to suit different circumstances starting from just £19.99 per month.

 

When are the sessions?

 

Moving Menopause sessions take place at Blackpool Sports Centre on Tuesday evening.

 

They start at 5pm and end at 7pm.

 

The 8 week course will start on 30th June.
