Gym Support Sessions at Active Blackpool

We know you might want to use the gym outside of our specialist Exercise Referral classes, while still having a bit of support as you build your confidence.

Our supported gym sessions give you exactly that — one of our friendly Exercise Referral Instructors will be on hand in the gym to offer guidance, encouragement, and answer any questions whenever you need them.

Take a look below to find out more about the team.

What is a Gym Support Session?

A gym support session is a great way to build your confidence and independence as part of your Exercise Referral journey.

As you progress through the programme, introducing regular gym sessions into your routine can help you develop healthy, long-term habits. However, we understand that moving from structured classes into a busy gym environment can feel like a big step. That’s where our supported gym sessions can help.

During these sessions, you’ll have the freedom to exercise at your own pace in the gym, while still having access to expert support whenever you need it. One of our friendly and experienced Exercise Referral Instructors will be on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, or simply provide reassurance and encouragement.

Supported gym sessions are designed to help you feel comfortable, capable, and in control, so you can gradually build the confidence to exercise independently and continue your activity journey long into the future.

You can also book through the website, in person or over the phone, so what are you waiting for….

How much does it cost?

All supported gym sessions are included as part of your Exercise Referral membership for just £15 per month.

If you’re looking for a bit more flexibility, you can also attend on a pay-as-you-go basis for £3.30 per session.

What should you wear in the Gym?

You’ll need to wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows you to move freely, without getting in the way while using the equipment.

You’ll need to be wearing training shoes with closed toes that don’t slip off your feet.

We know you’ll be working hard so a small towel might also be useful.
