We’re upgrading your Gym at Moor Park!
Gym regulars at Moor Park Health & Leisure Centre will face a short period of disruption soon – but we promise it will be well worth it!
Work will begin on Monday, 1st June, to refurbish and extend the gym at the centre, which means we’re setting up a temporary gym in the Sports Hall and a temporary Active Wellbeing Suite in the meeting room until the improvements are complete – a period of twelve weeks.
Once the work is finished, all the usual equipment will be back alongside 6 new pieces of EGYM kit and 9 new pieces of Matrix kit plus replacements for some of the older kit so you can have even better strength and cardio workouts.
Please note, however, there will be short closures at the start and finish of the work to allow for the equipment to be moved and installed. The start of work closure will be on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June and we’ll confirm the closure of the finish date soon. The temporary spaces will be open from Thursday 4th June.
Martin Cardwell, Active Blackpool’s Operations Manager, explains: “The gym at Moor Park is Active Blackpool’s busiest gym, and we recognise the need to improve the experience for all our members at this facility.
“Working within the building’s existing footprint, we have identified that by incorporating corridor and storage space into the gym and reconfiguring it, we can provide a bigger and better environment for members to work out in.
The work to create two new consultation rooms in the Active Wellbeing Suite will provide much needed space for the Exercise Referral team to meet privately with members.”
We're expanding the floor plan to make your new gym bigger!
And here’s a sneak peek at some of the new equipment in a little more detail:
We’re extending our range of EGYM equipment by adding 6 new machines so you can get even more benefits from the personalised work outs of the most advanced training equipment around!
We’re adding new 5 new dual and multifunctional machines from Matrix to add more options for resistance training for those of you who prefer traditional pin loaded equipment.
We’re also adding a few new pieces of cardio equipment to keep up with demand and extending the free weights area by adding an additional rack and new lifting bars, plus replacing dumbbells and plate weights.
